Disliking My Responses: Delete and Block

When making my 86-years-old mother’s lunch, I listen to the first 15/20 minutes of Rush Limbaugh. My mother is not all that interested in hearing him, so after I serve lunch to her, I turn to the gospel music station that she dearly loves. My mother particularly likes the host that is on during lunch. I do too despite our opposing political leanings

I am a twitter follower of that host who regularly puts out tweets that calls for innocent fun responses. Other times, the tweets solicit a serious response. I get into trouble with the host with my responses to his political based tweets. It is no secret that the hosts on this gospel radio station are Obama supporters. Thankfully, the host has yet to dump me like a few other pro Obama Twitter people did when I challenged them on anything that politically relates to Pres. Obama. But this host does delete my political tweets. For example, the radio station was jubilant over the First Lady’s speech at the Democratic Convention earlier this month. The host tweeted for thoughts about her speech. The responses were positive except mine. I tweeted back that at the end of her speech she let it be known that she is for “a woman’s right to choose” which  means she is pro-abortion. My response tweet disappeared.

On Friday, the host talked about Mitt Romney’s response to a question about what he considered to be middle class income levels. Mr. Romney’s answer reportedly was between $250,000 and $200,000. The host shared it on Twitter,  a website and Facebook. I decided not to respond right away, because it just did not sound right. Since then, at this link, I found out reports cut the last 2 words, “and less” from Romney’s response. Those who follow me on twitter or pay attention to my twitter feed on this blog already know this happened.

I tweeted the link with Romney’s unedited response to the gospel music host and posted it on the website a few hours ago. I have yet to see my Romney tweet come up on the gospel radio host’s twitter page. So far, what I said in the tweet is still on the host’s website.

Some folks are so thin skin in dealing with opposing political views. Some blacks still caught up in “black group think” and the Obama presidency cannot deal with black conservatives. These folks are always deleting and/or blocking me completely from their pages, except for one dear Facebook friend who just argues back at my comments. The other folks on her page wishes she would dump me. I do get Pro Obama folks challenging my political tweets and Facebook posts now and then. They make me angry sometimes, but I only delete pro or con responses of those who use foul language. I have yet to completely block or delete people from my pages who are liberal, left, and pro Obama.

2012 Remembrance of 9/11

I will never forget the horrific events of September 11, 2001. I was a head teacher in a child care classroom. A teacher from the other end of the hall ran in the classroom and told us about planes flying into the World Trade center. While continuing classroom activities, I turned the radio on to an all news station.

The parents started coming to pick up their children. My classroom staff started leaving while I remained till the last child in the room left. The parent of the last child told me she started to go home and take a nap a then come for her child. I told her we would have called you, because your child would have been the only child here.

I did not see any televised images of the 9/11 horror until after the jet crashes and the twin towers collapsed. I stopped in the ice cream/sandwich shop next to the child care center when going home. There I saw a replay of the 2nd plane flying into the Twin Tower. After finally getting home. I turned on the TV and saw close-ups of a person waving a large white piece of cloth and other people hanging out of windows at the top of one of the twin towers. I almost fell to the floor when I realized those people were dead.

I think of the heroes who lost their lives to save people. To mention a few from so many, there were building managers Frank Di Martini and Pablo Ortiz who saved  many people trapped in offices in the upper floors after the crash. Fire Marshall Ron Bucca (a long distance runner) who mad made it to the 78th floor on foot while helping trapped people get to the stairway when he was killed in the tower collapse. Port Authority police officer, Walwyn Stuart lost his life helping people escape at the bottom of the towers. Go here to read about the heroes of the Pentagon on 9/11. I also remember and honor those on the doomed Flight 93 who kept it from being another missile headed for either the White House or the Capitol Building.

My heart continues to go out to those who lost love ones. Just think about the families who lost more than one love one on that day! Think of the terrible tragedy suffered  by people such as John and Jan Vigiano who lost 2 sons, a firefighter and a police officer. Patricia Smith was a toddler when she lost her mother, a police officer Moira Smith whose last photograph was of her helping an injured person from the towers. She died some 25 minutes later. Kevin Villa 8 years old in 2001, also lost his mother, EMT Jamel Merino.  Go here for an old post on the children lost on 9/11. Life goes on, but we should never forget the horrific tragedy of 9/11. I leave you with a view of the new  beautiful 1 World Trade Center still in progress.

Racist Remarks According to…

Conservative, Bob Parks of Black and Right produced this video on deemed racist remarks according to who is doing the talking. Now I know racism can be found among Republicans and Democrats. The problem is that remarks get the racist label coming from someone in the TEA Party, Conservative Republican camp, but no so for those remarks coming from someone in the liberal, leftist Democrat camp.

No Longer A Democrat but Watched the Democrat Convention

I watched the Democratic convention. It is the 2nd time watching as a Conservative Republican. I see that my growth in conservatism has really shot way up through listening to the convention speeches. What I heard from the speeches angered me. To think, I use to be a Democrat!  Socialism is growing in that political  party.

When I was a Democrat,  the  party beliefs that I did not go along with, I ignored. I see that going on within my Democratic family, relative and friend circle. They don’t support Democratic social wedge issues such as gay marriage, using their tax money for free birth control, and abortion, but they strongly see the Democrats as being  inclusive of their race and having the back of the everyday working person. For those two reasons, they ignore the social stuff and are even trying to ignore the taking out of God and recognition of the capital Israeli city, Jerusalem,  the loud verbal “nos” voiced 3 times against putting them back into the platform and the booing when God and recognizing Israel were re-instated. But they really can’t quite do that.

One of my family members fell in love again with Bill Clinton and feels his speech should be played over and over. Hearing Clinton, made being a Democrat okay again for her. Now she is closing me off when I bring up that what he said is not coming up well under fact checks. For an example, go here to see what the CBO (Congressional Budget Office) said about one of Clinton’s fiscal assertions and for another fact check go here. She is upset that the critical assessment of Pres. Obama’s speech is not that good.

I do not know how those in my circle can ignore all the numerous speeches (even the one from the First Lady) including support for “a woman’s right to choose” which is code for the right to choose to kill the unborn baby. They also bandied about women’s reproductive rights which is also code for abortion. My 86-year-old mother was not picking up on those code words. I had to explain them and even tell her that when she heard, “to be free to love whom ever you want/choose,” that was code for homosexual love.  Her reaction was, “What, oh my!”

Well, I am looking forward to the debates, because quite honestly, I think the Democrats got more voting juice out of their convention than the Republicans, who were excellent. Of course,  I hope my assertion is incorrect. The Democrats did just what I said in a previous post. They played on the emotional and the racial heartstrings and even the sexual. Really, that Sandra Fluke wanting taxpayers to supply woman such as herself (single) with free birth control! Many of the every day working people are seeing the Democrats/Government as their saviors and don’t care about the national debt and the economy in general when it comes to government spending and taxing to keep them from going under. Well, that’s another whole blog post.

If I was still a Democrat, the speeches I heard at this Democrat convention would be propelling me to the Republicans. Because of my continual growth as a political junkie, regardless of who will be president and my increasing disdain for the Democratic Party, God willing, I will be watching both the Republican and Democratic 2016 political conventions and maybe become a delegate at a Republican convention before I get to be too old.

Yes, I Believe

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
