My Talk Radio Programs

Microphone_talk radioMy talk radio listening keeps evolving. There was a time when I could listen to one entire talker program on the liberal side. This was a local based talk show on Philly’s one and only urban talk radio station. The radio talk host is a liberal/lefty but he was a consummate professional. He had a chat room going while he program was on the air. He was always polite and respectful while disagreeing with my growing right-wing comments. He gave up his radio talk show to accept a reporter gig on TV program, Chasing New Jersey.

The station has one syndicated liberal/left talker, Al Sharpton. I now have a hard time listening to him for more than five minutes. I use to be able to put up with him for about 45 minutes. In my birth and growth as a conservative, I am about seven and half years along and now wondering as a thinking adult, how did I stay in the liberal/lefty camp for over thirty years of my life.

There are so many local and syndicated right-wing radio talkers these days. I find myself listening to some for a while and then turn to their competition for a while. I listen to the syndicated talkers such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham. I listen to local Philly talk folks such as Dom Giordano and Fox News exile, Dick Morris. I listen online to local talker, James T. Harris, because his program is on in Tuscon, Arizona. I listen online to other radio talkers, such as Herman Cain, Brian Kilmeade and delayed Mark Levin programs.

New to my regular online listening is Christian talk programming, such as Janet Parshall’s In the Market Place and Steve Deace. I really like Steve Deace. He use to be on a local Philly talk  station at his 9 P. M. broadcast time. I do not like that the station bumped him to 3 A. M., so I listen to him online. Mr. Deace discusses the political, social and cultural through a biblical world view.

I am participating in Steve Deace’s weekly (Republican) Candidate Survivor Island in where you vote for the possible Republican presidential candidates that you do not want to see as the 2016 Republican presidential candidate and eventually the next President. So far participants voted Gov. Chris Christie, Rep. Peter King, Jeb Bush and Haley Barbour off the Island. This evening I cast my vote for Donald Trump to be the next to go. If you want to participate, go here. You will have to give your name, email address and answer a few more questions, before you get to the page with the candidates’ names. You will have until next Monday in the afternoon to cast your vote and you will hear Mr. Deace announce who got the boot on his program later that evening or read it on his Facebook page or on Twitter.

I enjoy listening to the various individuals on the right. I do not  agree with them one hundred percent, but I find myself not agreeing with anything I hear coming from liberal lefties. This is a strong indication that I am really maturing in my right-wing thinking.

No More Herman Cain

I said Herman Cain was toast before Ginger White came out and said he had an affair of 13 years with him. He suspended his presidential campaign which is interesting, because when a suspension occurs for a person or an activity, it usually means a stoppage for a period of time and then resumed. I do not think the Cain presidential campaign will resume at all. So really, it is ended…”dead in the grave” ended!

I do feel sorry for Mr. Cain, even though, there maybe a bit of truth to these sexual harassment allegations. I definitely did not believe Sharon Bialek or Ginger White. I became leery when one allegation would lose prevalence in the news, then another allegation would surface. If Herman Cain was still in the presidential race, another woman would be coming forward in another week or so claiming something dirty about him. The people he has around him did not advise him well on the handling of these sexual allegations. And to think Bill Clinton’s people successfully handled sexual allegations about him and the country elected him President of the U. S.!

I wonder if we will ever find out who was behind the undoing of Herman Cain! Was it on the Republican or the Democratic side? And what about the race thing! Could it be that powerful folks who did not want to see another black man, Democrat or Republican become president? One of my family members feels that way. This family member on the personal side, liked Herman Cain, but is too much of a Democrat to ever consider voting for him.

I was not that eager for the Mr. Cain to be the Republican presidential nominee due to him never holding elected public office. His loss should have been through the process of primary and caucus voting, not from growing sexual harassment allegations that have yet to be proven.

Resonating Newt

Oh, remember when I said that nobody was listening to the Republican  presidential contender Newt Gingrich? Well for a while I was correct, but not any longer. Due to his performances in the debates, many people are changing their minds about the former Republican Speaker of the House. He is resonating on the issues. I like this. I had a blog buddy that passed away a year and a half ago. He was of the opinion that Mr. Gingrich was old news as far as concerning the presidency. I wonder what he would be thinking if he was still here with us!

Newt Gingrich grew on me after I went conservative. He is always coming up with great ideas for solutions to problems. I still have a bit of a problem with his past in the personal behavior department. His womanizing while going after former Pres. Clinton on the Paula Jones case and married to his 2nd wife did not go well with me at all. I do realize with his 3rd and present wife, he is making spiritual efforts to make this marriage his last one. He says he has repented and asked God’s forgiveness. I was glad to read his daughter’s column clearing up the wrongly reported and well believed account of him serving divorce papers on his 1st wife while in the hospital dealing with cancer. His daughter said her mother initiated the divorce before the wrongly reported hospital incident. Read more here.

The days of the presidential candidates having to be squeaking clean are pretty much a thing of the past. Also in times past, it was easier to keep baggage about a candidate under wraps. These days with baggage and secrets, it is a given that we will find out about them while the candidates are still a candidates regardless of political party affiliation. But because of what the Republicans stands for, Republicans get more judgmental scrutiny than Democrats.

I think of all of what is going on with Herman Cain against former Pres. Bill Clinton when he was a Democratic presidential contender. I remember the former Pres. and his wife, Hillary Clinton both admitting his infidelity/womanizing  on the 60 Minutes TV program. It did not bother too many Democrats, Independents or even some Republicans,  because the country elected him over incumbent President, George Herbert Walker Bush. I really do think Newt Gingrich has a brilliant mind. If he should become the Republican presidential nominee, he will get my vote.

Other Than a Miracle, He is Toast

This Herman Cain thing with the sexual harassment claims are devastating. If he ever had a chance to be the Republican nominee, despite his current strong support, other than a miracle, he is toast.  Mr. Cain should have seen something like this coming. I kind of feel that there is a bit of truth to the first sexual harassment claim. But not these later ones! I am suspect of Sharon Bialek’s claim. She let the statute of limitations run out on that claim. He ran for (and lost) U. S. Senator in Georgia in 2004. You would think the sexual harassment claims would have surfaced then.  At least I do!

Who is orchestrating these attacks. Is it Republicans or Democrats? I tend to think it is Republicans, because the main competition now is among the Republican presidential contenders and not with the Democratic opponent, Pres. Obama.  I do not cast off the idea that there could be some Republicans behind this hoping to succeed with the racial sexual stereotypes. But then, it could be the Democrats orchestrating this to set up the Republicans and relying on people falling for old racial sexual stereotypes too!

The media is not on Herman Cain’s side like it was with Bill Clinton and the sexual harassment claims against him. Have you notice as Mr. Cain financial support grew since the first sexual harassment claim, claim after claim grows nastier. It  is like well the first one did not stop you so how about this one. If this one does not stop you, we have more. True or not these sexual harassment claims have done irreversible damage.

Let’s Hear It from Zo Again and More

Zo (AlfonZo) Rachel tells it like it is. If you are a Democrat, and/or on the liberal leftist side of things, or you are a black person who is personally socially conservative, but just does not get it when it comes to black conservative Republicans such as Herman Cain and sees the Republican Party as the enemy, watch these Macho Sauce and Pajamas Media videos to get a clue. Listen to Zo on some of the GOP presidential candidates and Anderson Cooper. And again to those who believe blacks will vote for a black just because the candidate is black, the vilification of Herman Cain by noted blacks is proof in part that you believe wrong.

I remember when I started getting a clue about what a conservative Republican believed through a black conservative blogger and then through columns and blogs of such folks as Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin. Conservatives such as the late Rev. Jerry Falwell, the late Tony Snow, Star Parker, and Dr. Walter Williams going back and forth with liberal challengers on TV news programming and talk radio pretty much brought me over to the conservative side.
