I saw a meme posted by a friend who is a liberal Democrat and who is further down that leftist road some months ago. It described how Greece was going to fix its financial situation with a leftist economical approach. Now that Greece is in default, it obvious that those leftist measures did not work. This person has not posted anything on Greece since then. Really, what happen to Greece is a tribute to the consequences of decades of government giving nationwide free provisions without the finances to pay for them. It is failed socialism. Look what Greece is doing to its citizens now!
This is sad, but it is a reality of today’s economy. There are young college graduates finding themselves working in fast food and/or taking more than 1 part-time job. They thought they would be employed by an organization, big company or etc. making a nice salary with good benefits. Do you support and did you vote for Barack Obama for President? We are now into the 6th year of his presidency. It is not intelligent to continue to blame George W. Bush for the state of the economy 6 years after his presidency. This economy that delivers low skilled full-time and non benefit part-time jobs over skilled full-time jobs with benefits is the Obama economy.

What did Pres. Obama say about fixing the economy back on February 1, 2009? In 2014, the economy continues to be far from good. The Pres. received from citizen votes, citizens not voting and voter corruption as some accuse to have a 2nd term. I know his supporters among my family/friend circle refuse to blame him for almost anything. Since Pres. Obama still gets away with not being held accountable, I think the response in the March 2014 Obama image in the cartoon is true. Politically, he stopped caring about the state of the economy.
Yes, this will be happening if/when the minimum wage hikes to $10.00 an hour or even as some proposed, $15.00 an hour becomes law of the land. Some otherwise very intelligent people strongly feel that the employer should personally take a pay cut so that every low hourly wage employee benefits from the wage increase and no one gets laid off. We are well down that road where you end up in a cul-de-sac of mixed socialism and communism.
I use to think that wealthier people owed those making less money more pay. That is leftist thinking. Now that I think the opposite, I cannot get over how so many people feel wealthier employers owe their employees more of their personal profits. Some of these same people are okay with raising taxes to help equalize pay and benefits for everyone. Why are more and more people so into the government taking from those who are reaping the benefits of establishing a successful business?
Many of us, including my household dealt with the loss of power in the last 2 months due to a very rough record-breaking winter. I want to thank the linemen everywhere who spend so many hours in the snow and ice repairing the electrical lines so we can get our power back. Again thank you so much! As this Varvel editorial cartoon depicts, you are all Superman.
