Not With Christians Who Support Same-Sex Marriage

I saw a tweet from Meghan McCain that told gays that she was a Christian that supported same-sex marriage. I see that former First Lady, Laura Bush also supports same-sex marriage. Well, marriage is between a man and a woman (see Ephesians 5:31 and Proverbs 18:22 ).

I can in no way agree with this pro same-sex marriage video.

I have seen some of the pro same-sex marriage arguments from those who identify as Christian and I just cannot go with them and their interpretations of the biblical scriptures they use for support and the scriptures they say many Christians misinterpret on Homosexuality.

II Samuel 1:25-26 from the Old Testament is often used to support same-sex marriage. I quote from against this notion of a homosexual affair between Jonathan and David.

“Finally, the fact that both Jonathan (who had a child) and David were both married to women (David many times), and had children by such testifies to their heterosexual sexuality, and in David’s case it is further affirmed not only by his many wives, 1Sam. 30:5; 2Sam. 5:13) but also (in a negative context) by his adulterous affair with Bathsheba. Thus, while pro-homosex polemicists must strive and contrive to make David and Jonathan sexually involved, the Bible makes that sexual relations evident when they do occur, and that it was not men that David that he was sexually attracted to, but woman (2Sam. 11). Moreover, if Jonathan and David were in a homosexual relationship through the years, then they would have been adulterous bisexuals, and which have been scandalous in the household of Saul and kingdom of Israel.”

Now I know some are reading this and thinking gay hating basher, but this is not about hating gay people, because many of us love friends, relatives and family members who are gay, without supporting their lifestyle. This is a Christian position against marriage between 2 men or 2 woman. This is in support of DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act), because marriage is between a man and a woman.

Pres. Obama is Now Against DOMA

President Obama gave the okay to stop enforcing the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) which will lead to full legalization of homosexual marriage. This makes many Christians, especially in the black community who voted for him angry. After all, the Pres. did state his belief when he was a presidential candidate that marriage was between a man and a woman. I know Christians in my family/friend circle are quite upset. I wonder how other Christian blacks that voted for him mainly because he was black and Democrat are feeling about his turning his back on DOMA!

Matthew 19:4-6

And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

So why the change of mind? Gays and lesbians are increasingly unhappy with the Pres. Obama’s inaction on the issues most important to them. This latest action against DOMA will help to retain the homosexual support for his 2012 reelection. What is it with Pres. Obama not enforcing federal laws (see this)? This turning his back on certain law enforcement, well that will have to be another post.
