Among Republicans and Democrats

Well, a few months of time went between this post and my last one. I am still notRepubs_Dems back into blogging as I thought. So much went down between my February post and now! I get teased by my Democratic family members and friends about all the possible Republican presidential candidates. One online Democratic friend enjoys teasing me about how the Republicans love eating their own. That person is looking forward to the Republican debates to see that in great action. This person also feels the Republican eating of their own is the main reason the RNC cut down the number of debates for up and coming Republican presidential debates.

Of course, I responded with the fact that they had no choice and that there were plenty of Democrats who were not all that happy with only having Hillary Clinton as their only choice as their Democratic presidential candidate. Now, that has changed. Even though it is not much of a challenging choice, self-described Democratic socialist, Senator Bernie Sanders, an Independent announced he is seeking the Democratic presidential nomination. I hear the former Democratic Baltimore Mayor and former Maryland Governor, Martin O’Malley most likely will also be a Democratic presidential candidate.

On the Republican side, I do not have one sure choice. I do like Sen. Ted Cruz and Gov. Scott Walker. For now, I am not even considering possible presidential candidates, Jeb Bush or Chris Christie or Republican presidential candidates who do not have any elective office experience. I admit due to sentimental reasons, I do care for Mike Huckabee. He has the RINO label, because of his taxing record as Governor of Arkansas. I was for Huckabee for President as a new Republican in 2008. I did not get to vote for him because Sen. John McCain had won enough votes and delegates to get the Republican presidential nomination before the PA presidential primary took place. Well, not being able to have my vote counted in the presidential primary/caucus season is another blog post.

Republicans are putting forth a great range of choice. We even have the one thing that we face accusations of not having and that is diversity. Besides whites, Republicans have a black man, latino men, and a woman as declared presidential candidates. The Democrats so far have two aging people of the same race, one being a woman. The third/new party cry is only coming from the conservative and Republican side. Oh, that would considerably split the conservatives and Republicans and again give the presidency to the Democrats. I do not want another Democrat elected to be our next President.

No to the Democratic Left Defining Those on the Right

FBMeme_Being for God and Country

Oh, I like this Citizens for Freedom meme, but it does remind me of the success of liberal/lefty Democrats in projecting the beliefs stated in yellow on to the right thinking conservatives and Republicans. The one thing that was left out in yellow from decades ago is uncaring rich fat cats. Now most of the folks among my christian Democratic Party family and friends would object to being called anti-God and amoral even though they turn their head the other way on such super pro democratic issues as late-term abortion and promoting being gay as an alternative lifestyle to young school-age  children as you can read here.

One can find non believers in God in any political party, but there are Democrats who are making the effort to do away with God in their party’s platform. I remember the shock of hurt on my mother’s face in watching the Democrats boo God during their 2012 national presidential convention. As much as my mother loves certain TV preachers and prophecy teachers, she ignored them when they spoke on political issues, because they are all Republican and conservative. Today she has a hard time trying to ignore them and that it hurt for her to realize how far the Democratic Party moved away from the ways of God.

When it comes to thinking for oneself, for me, it is about escaping group black think. I do not have to think a certain way because of the color of my skin. I am in that category of believing in, honoring and loving God and loving my country and the Democrats continue to be successful with the deep put down of those in that category. I still want to visit other countries, but do not want to live out my life as a citizen anywhere but here in the United States. What is wrong with that? The beliefs stated in yellow in the above meme are not representative of those on the right. We need to increase our preparation for success in keeping the Democratic left from being able to negatively define us on the Republican and conservative right.

My Talk Radio Programs

Microphone_talk radioMy talk radio listening keeps evolving. There was a time when I could listen to one entire talker program on the liberal side. This was a local based talk show on Philly’s one and only urban talk radio station. The radio talk host is a liberal/lefty but he was a consummate professional. He had a chat room going while he program was on the air. He was always polite and respectful while disagreeing with my growing right-wing comments. He gave up his radio talk show to accept a reporter gig on TV program, Chasing New Jersey.

The station has one syndicated liberal/left talker, Al Sharpton. I now have a hard time listening to him for more than five minutes. I use to be able to put up with him for about 45 minutes. In my birth and growth as a conservative, I am about seven and half years along and now wondering as a thinking adult, how did I stay in the liberal/lefty camp for over thirty years of my life.

There are so many local and syndicated right-wing radio talkers these days. I find myself listening to some for a while and then turn to their competition for a while. I listen to the syndicated talkers such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham. I listen to local Philly talk folks such as Dom Giordano and Fox News exile, Dick Morris. I listen online to local talker, James T. Harris, because his program is on in Tuscon, Arizona. I listen online to other radio talkers, such as Herman Cain, Brian Kilmeade and delayed Mark Levin programs.

New to my regular online listening is Christian talk programming, such as Janet Parshall’s In the Market Place and Steve Deace. I really like Steve Deace. He use to be on a local Philly talk  station at his 9 P. M. broadcast time. I do not like that the station bumped him to 3 A. M., so I listen to him online. Mr. Deace discusses the political, social and cultural through a biblical world view.

I am participating in Steve Deace’s weekly (Republican) Candidate Survivor Island in where you vote for the possible Republican presidential candidates that you do not want to see as the 2016 Republican presidential candidate and eventually the next President. So far participants voted Gov. Chris Christie, Rep. Peter King, Jeb Bush and Haley Barbour off the Island. This evening I cast my vote for Donald Trump to be the next to go. If you want to participate, go here. You will have to give your name, email address and answer a few more questions, before you get to the page with the candidates’ names. You will have until next Monday in the afternoon to cast your vote and you will hear Mr. Deace announce who got the boot on his program later that evening or read it on his Facebook page or on Twitter.

I enjoy listening to the various individuals on the right. I do not  agree with them one hundred percent, but I find myself not agreeing with anything I hear coming from liberal lefties. This is a strong indication that I am really maturing in my right-wing thinking.

Pres. Obama’s Dream of Illegal Immigrants

Glenn McCoy_O dreamIllegalsGlenn McCoy Cartoon

Yes, Pres. Obama must be dreaming about legalizing those who are in this country due to unlawfully crossing this country’s borders as future voting citizens. Of course they will be registering and voting Democratic. It is such a sweet dream to the Pres., because that will be the last nail (along with conservatives angry with the Republican Party holding back their votes) in the coffin of the Republican Party. The Democrats will run the country unfettered.

Legalizing the illegals is not just a Democrat thing. There were and are Republicans that are for making illegals citizens of this country. I remember Republican Senator, John McCain coming together with the late Democratic Senator, Edward Kennedy on a bill that never made it to law to legalize the illegal immigrants. I remember George W. Bush was all for it as President and I also remember former Republican Senator, Trent Lott saying to the effect (paraphrasing) that people of this country need to see legalizing these immigrants as a good thing.

There are employers of  who are Democrats and Republicans who are already employing illegal immigrants. After all, they are cheap labor. And they want to keep it that way. With the job situation not getting any better in this country, do we need legalized illegals competing along side everybody else looking for a job?

I am for doing something for the children brought here by their illegal border crossing parents. I am all for giving them a path to citizenship, but that path starts  at the end of the line. They can go to college here, but not at the in state tuition rate until they become full citizens. The illegal crossing parents get no path until they answer for their law breaking and then they can get in back of the line behind their children.
