Yes! If this minimum wage thing is so important, why did not Pres. Obama put it to the Democrats when they had just about the highest numbers in both Houses of Congress? The Pres. is using the minimum wage to divert us from his failed policies such as the ACA (Affordable Care Act) which is hurting so many more people than it is helping across this country with its high co-pays, deductibles, and its non coverage for infants. The ACA is also having a negative affect on employment. Go here for one man’s sharing of his experience with Pres. Obama.
Now that I think of those first two years of the Obama administration, I do remember cries for increasing employment and raising the minimum wage from the left over health care. The administration ignored those cries as the Pres. assigned certain members of the House and Senate to come together with a health care bill. Working on ways to increase employment really never happened. So finally, I leave you with this.
When I started this blog post, I could look across to the left inside to my bedroom and see the TV. I had Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on C-SPAN. It has been my desire to attend this conference since I went conservative. I guess one of these years I will make it. I know CPAC is mostly attended by mostly white college students and 20 something folks. I hope that I, a 60+ something black female will not be that much of an anomaly when I finally do get to go to CPAC.
Because of all the reported turmoil within the Republican Party, I must admit I was not as disappointed about not being able to attend this year as in the past, but there is still that inner voice saying to me that I should attend a CPAC. This year I was not able to view many of Thursday and Friday speeches. I did hear radio talker Steve Deace’s interviews with Phyllis Schlafly and Gov. Bobby Jindal. I watched as much of the final day of CPAC as I could. I enjoyed Dr. Ben Carson and the speaker that introduced him who talked about the Christian influence being the primary catalyst behind the civil rights movement. I was also glad to hear CPAC speakers speaking against the Republican party becoming Democratic light.
I stopped whatever I was doing in the kitchen during the late afternoon to hear the hilariously truthful Ann Coulter and remained in front of the living room TV to hear a great conservative, Sen. Ted Cruz. Ah, Ted Cruz! I am already to support him in a presidential run. The GOP needs to put down all the infighting and focus on sustaining and increasing the Republican majority in the House, win a Republican majority in the Senate and winning back the presidency. I know it still does not look all that good for any of those victories, but after watching CPAC today, I realize all is not lost. We can have those GOP victories.
Zo (AlfonZo) Rachel tells it like it is. If you are a Democrat, and/or on the liberal leftist side of things, or you are a black person who is personally socially conservative, but just does not get it when it comes to black conservative Republicans such as Herman Cain and sees the Republican Party as the enemy, watch these Macho Sauce and Pajamas Media videos to get a clue. Listen to Zo on some of the GOP presidential candidates and Anderson Cooper. And again to those who believe blacks will vote for a black just because the candidate is black, the vilification of Herman Cain by noted blacks is proof in part that you believe wrong.
I remember when I started getting a clue about what a conservative Republican believed through a black conservative blogger and then through columns and blogs of such folks as Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin. Conservatives such as the late Rev. Jerry Falwell, the late Tony Snow, Star Parker, and Dr. Walter Williams going back and forth with liberal challengers on TV news programming and talk radio pretty much brought me over to the conservative side.
On my old blog, Conservative Minority, I did a post on a family member. Linda was the fictitious name given. Linda is a confirmed Democrat and never thinks of leaving the Democratic Party. Linda feels Pres. Obama is being bashed too much. Previously, I blogged about Linda being against the Democrats’ thinking on illegal immigration and feeling that illegals should be caught and sent back to where they came from. It does irk her somewhat that she share’s the same sentiments on illegal immigration as Ann Coulter and that the Democrats are for giving citizenship to people who are in this country illegally.
Another subject has come up that has Linda going against those who share her political identification. It is the community center/mosque, Ground Zero controversy. When she first heard about it, her gut response was that no mosque should go up anywhere near where so many people were killed in the destruction of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center by radical Muslim extremists. Sean Hannity is against the building of this mosque. Linda is in agreement with him and is bewildered by the liberals who are for the community center/mosque. She dislikes Mr. Hannity more than Ann Coulter!
