Rewrite the Bible!

Melissa Harris-Perry_Bible

I know whenever a liberal/lefty makes this type of eye-popping  comment about anything Christian, true Christians who vote the Democratic Party along with the far lefties do become incensed, but then at the same time, they publicly act as if it this type of comment was never spoken.

Melissa Harris-Perry is not the only liberal/lefty progressive who feels the bible needs an update. She and others think that way, because they feel that bible content comes only from mere mortal men. The reality is that the bible is God inspired. We cannot change what we do not like about what the bible tells us, even when it goes against prevailing attitudes on such matters as same-sex marriage and abortion rights.

I Watched It.

2013_PresInaugu

There were many ‘I am not watching the inauguration’ comments on Facebook. No sour grapes here; so, I did watch it. I grew to love the pomp and circumstance of the presidential inaugurations regardless of who won the presidency. I enjoyed all the music, especially the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, who sang the Battle Hymn of the Republic. I spotlight this choir from time to time in my Sunday music posts.

I did not care for the President’s speech at all. The speech amounted to a call for a revolution for soaring government control. Unfortunately too many people today are for such a revolution. With the help of non voting conservatives, Pres. Obama has more power in an undeserved 2nd term to give government more control of our lives.

A few of my Democratic liberal/lefty FB friends are so jubilant over a 2nd Obama presidency that they can hardly contain themselves. They feels the Republicans are toothless and will not be able to achieve anything against the Obama administration. Call me crazy, but I still think they can achieve against the Democrats.

Reasons for Voting Democratic

12 Reasons_voted Dem

This is good, but I heard other comments as to why people voted Democratic. One for example among black folks is, “If Romney won, he would put us back in slavery.” Now that comes across ridiculous to me, but lot of folks in my family/friend circle really believed that about Mitt Romney. Romney’s 47% comment really did him in. His campaign managers did not do enough damage control on that one.

As far as #7 goes, I use to be a part of the Christian crowd that votes the Democratic Party while ignoring their official stand on being nothing wrong with abortion i.e. destroying an unborn baby. Being spiritually convicted on abortion is a big part of the reason as to why I now have a hard time voting that political party. It shames me that I was even okay with abortion for a time. I wonder how Christian Democrats can vote for Barack Obama who supports the killing of a baby that survives a late-term abortion! I wonder why they do not mind their tax money going to financial support of abortion!

From my experiences through Facebook interactions, reading columns and listening to voters on radio, TV, some family and friends, #9 is a pretty popular reason why Barack Obama and Democrat candidates received their votes. How often did I hear that this country was center-right? Well, according to the Nov 6 election victories, that definitely is no longer true. Too many people really think they have a right to the money of someone who is more financially successful. Too many people feel entitled to services they can’t afford on their own and have no problem with increased taxpayer support. The left side has really grown. Those of us who know better, should be very concerned, because these people are helping socialism to take a much stronger hold of this country.

Post Election Thoughts on The Republicans and Democrats.

Well, starting with my Sunday Veterans Day post,  it has been about 2 months since my last post. I did not mean to take this long of a hiatus from blogging, but I did. I had a gut feeling that Mitt Romney was not going to win the presidential election, but did get my hopes up a little seeing such large enthusiastic crowds at the Romney rallies. The pundits on the right got it so wrong. For example, Glenn Beck predicted over 300 electoral vote victory for Romney.  How wrong was that? I knew not to get excited over Dick Morris’s landslide prediction for Mr. Romney. His wrong predictions extremely outweigh his correct ones.

People everywhere are saying that the Republican Party is in shambles and needs to change. Radio talker and libertarian minded, but Republican voter Neal Boortz does not like the social issues wing of the Republican Party. He along with so many others blame that wing for pushing the anti-abortion stand. Then there are those who point to the Republican Party being anti-gay and anti-immigration.

Please, Republicans Party do not change your platform on issues that will turn you into a democratic lite political party. It is fine with me that the Republican Party is anti-abortion, pro traditional family and anti-illegal immigration.

The Democrats are really not about personal responsibility. That phony “War on Women” proves it. The real “War on Women” is in the Islamic Middle East and it is showing up in countries of Islamic immigration.  Late last summer at the Democratic Presidential Convention, I found it awful that even the First Lady, Michelle Obama emphasized a woman’s right to free birth control and the right to choose which is really the right to abort/kill unborn babies, all at taxpayers’ expense. It saddens me to see that so many women in this country agree with the First Lady. God help us if the Republicans go that direction.

The Democrat Party is officially pro gay everything. They are behind the gay lifestyle being taught in public schools. I cannot go with that. Single as I am, I am pro traditional marriage and traditional family. The pro-illegal immigration does have some Republican backers. The latest to join that side is conservative radio talker and TV host, Sean Hannity. I do admit I think something should be done only for children brought here by their illegal immigrating parents. That does not include giving them  instate college tuition rates or types of privileges that put them ahead of citizens in this country.

I am seeing too many Republicans giving up. Some of my Facebook friends have gone to posting pictures of cutesy animals in place of hard-hitting pro Republican and conservative news links. Not me! As a former Democrat, I remember when the Democratic Party went through similar tough times. They did not give up. They did not become Republican lite. In fact, they went further left and now we have Barack Obama for a 2nd term. Yes, Republicans need to evaluate what went right and wrong and then positively move on to push conservative ideas for future victories.

Disliking My Responses: Delete and Block

When making my 86-years-old mother’s lunch, I listen to the first 15/20 minutes of Rush Limbaugh. My mother is not all that interested in hearing him, so after I serve lunch to her, I turn to the gospel music station that she dearly loves. My mother particularly likes the host that is on during lunch. I do too despite our opposing political leanings

I am a twitter follower of that host who regularly puts out tweets that calls for innocent fun responses. Other times, the tweets solicit a serious response. I get into trouble with the host with my responses to his political based tweets. It is no secret that the hosts on this gospel radio station are Obama supporters. Thankfully, the host has yet to dump me like a few other pro Obama Twitter people did when I challenged them on anything that politically relates to Pres. Obama. But this host does delete my political tweets. For example, the radio station was jubilant over the First Lady’s speech at the Democratic Convention earlier this month. The host tweeted for thoughts about her speech. The responses were positive except mine. I tweeted back that at the end of her speech she let it be known that she is for “a woman’s right to choose” which  means she is pro-abortion. My response tweet disappeared.

On Friday, the host talked about Mitt Romney’s response to a question about what he considered to be middle class income levels. Mr. Romney’s answer reportedly was between $250,000 and $200,000. The host shared it on Twitter,  a website and Facebook. I decided not to respond right away, because it just did not sound right. Since then, at this link, I found out reports cut the last 2 words, “and less” from Romney’s response. Those who follow me on twitter or pay attention to my twitter feed on this blog already know this happened.

I tweeted the link with Romney’s unedited response to the gospel music host and posted it on the website a few hours ago. I have yet to see my Romney tweet come up on the gospel radio host’s twitter page. So far, what I said in the tweet is still on the host’s website.

Some folks are so thin skin in dealing with opposing political views. Some blacks still caught up in “black group think” and the Obama presidency cannot deal with black conservatives. These folks are always deleting and/or blocking me completely from their pages, except for one dear Facebook friend who just argues back at my comments. The other folks on her page wishes she would dump me. I do get Pro Obama folks challenging my political tweets and Facebook posts now and then. They make me angry sometimes, but I only delete pro or con responses of those who use foul language. I have yet to completely block or delete people from my pages who are liberal, left, and pro Obama.
