First Lady Michelle Obama was the commencement speaker at my undergraduate alma mater, Bowie State University last week. I guess if you dislike anything Obama, you are probably saying, “so what!” I don’t have to tell you I am not a supporter of Pres. Obama. But, regardless of the politics, having his wife, the First Lady speak at a college graduation is a big deal. If this had been my graduation, my late father, late maternal grandmother and some of my other late relatives would be so excited to hear First Lady, Michelle Obama speak. Remember these are folks who never saw and thought there would ever be a black president and black First Lady. 

In late April, I saw that Angela Davis spoke at Bowie. I admit over the top excitement as a student back then over the idea of hearing her speak. I even desired that Angela Davis bush hairstyle  Not now! If I was as right thinking as I am now, instead of going to hear Ms. Davis, I would be studying for finals and/or take extra prep time for a final course project presentations. The more I grow on the right, the less I can tolerate listening to a far leftist person and in her case, with criminality.

Seeing pictures of Bowie’s campus, makes me feel my age. I do not recognize any of the buildings from online images. The campus is far more attractive than when I was a student. I wonder if any of the buildings that were there when I attended Bowie are still around! I have not been back to the campus since I graduated in 1973. I have only passed by it on the Amtrak Philly to Washington D. C. trains. Below is a picture of me in line beside a graduating male student wearing glasses in procession to the graduation ceremonies. The building in the background with several windows was my dormitory, Tubman Hall. I see Bowie now has student apartments. And by the way, the commencement speaker at my graduation was the late Daddy King, Martin Luther Sr.. My parents and my maternal grandmother were pretty excited about hearing him.

We are well into May and we have not heard from Zo since early April. Enjoy his rapid fire rant on the IRS, taxation, right wingers, Republicans, conservatives Democrats, liberals, slavery, taking our country back, Pro Israel, the TEA Party and more.

One very disturbing aspect is that former Republican pro-choice PA Governor, Tom Ridge (also first head of Homeland Security) enabled the activities in Gosnell’s house of horrors. When Tom Ridge was PA’s Governor, he stopped state inspections of abortion clinics. He is in hiding. Efforts by such folks as Bill O’Reilly and local radio talker, Dominic Giordano to get him to respond to the guilty verdict are futile so far. Pres. Obama kept mum on Kermit Gosnell, even though he voted as a state senator in Illinois against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act in Illinois that would protect the life of baby who survived a late-term abortion. Really, Gosnell, Tom Ridge and the Pres. appear to be on the same level when it comes to late-term abortions.

I am blessed to still have my 87-year-old mother with me. She weathered 2 bouts with cancer, an amputated toe and suffered a mild heart attack. Praise the Lord, she is still here and doing well! Her mind is as sharp as ever. I shared about my mother on this blog and on my former blog. To read more go here. It was a post celebrating my mother’s birthday, but it told the most about her.

My mother just discovered Wess Morgan and she does not like to miss church and enjoys worshipping the Lord.

Unfortunately there are many who are also realizing what Mr. Alford knows to be true about Pres. Obama, but will not allow the truth to settle within. They ignore, fight, try to explain, defend and even lie to themselves about Pres Obama.

Thanks to policies of our local to national leaders, things are getting stranger and worse. For instance limitations on consuming soda, but not for underage teens purchasing the morning-after abortion pill! From a Facebook friend, here is another aspect to think about:

“Minors are prohibited from viewing pornography…..but if they mimic pornography they can purchase abortion pills at 9 years old (or younger). Guess this will be a popular purchase for those who traffic in underage prostitution….it might become the modern multi-vitamin.”
