Our Country’s Deficit: Go to the Lord in Prayer

I had to suffer being knocked off-line for a few days. During that time, I have watched and listening to all the back and forth and political posturing coming from the Obama administration and the congressional Democrats and Republicans. Regardless of where you are in the political realm, I hope those saved by the blood of Jesus Christ are praying for this country’s debt crisis.

If we go into default, not only will we it affect this country negatively around the world, but here there would be a rise in interest rates propelled by a fall in the number of bidders for new Treasury bonds.  This would affect higher costs in home mortgages, student loans, credit cards and auto loans. Could you afford for your mortgage rates to go higher. If you think the foreclosures are bad now, well you have not seen anything yet. It also would increase the federal deficit by raising interest rates on the debt.  Read more here. Can You Pass the U. S. Citizenship Test?

I just took the test of 40 questions on AOL and incorrectly answered 2 questions. I correctly guessed about 3 or 4. After watching Jay Leno and hearing Sean Hannity posed similar and much easier questions to people born and educated in this country, I do think there is a large portion of the citizenry who could not correctly answer a third of the questions.

I admit it embarrasses me that I got 2 wrong which dealt with national holidays (I was going by what days I got off from my child care work days) and U. S. constitutional  history. I am even embarrassed by the ones I guessed correctly on, because I should know the information. Take the test and see how well you do. Please note that there is one out of date question. Last November’s elections makes the correct answer wrong.
