The Rhode Island Governor, Lincoln Chaffee decided to call the Christmas Tree at the state capitol, the Holiday Tree. The only holiday at this time of the year that incorporates a decorated tree into its tradition is Christmas. What other holiday in December does that? So why bother to use the term, holiday to keep from offending others who do not celebrate any kind of Christmas tradition?
