After the shooting at a shopping center in Arizona that killed and seriously wounded people including Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords, the charge coming from the Democratic liberal side was that there was too much nasty rhetoric and incivility in a our debates. I know people who feel that the man, Jared Loughner charged with the shootings, is a Nazis skinhead and the rhetoric against the first black president, his administration and his Democrat supporters triggered that tragic shooting. Of course, those folks are good and blind to the tactics on the liberal left that bring on nasty rhetoric and incivility.
The latest in the state union led fight against Scott Walker, the Governor of Wisconsin continues in insulting rhetoric and incivility. Remember Gov. Walker was able to get a law passed that put serious curbs on state union collective bargaining, but that law is on hold due to a legal challenge. The opposition is going after the businesses who supported the Gov., by placing anti-Walker stickers on their products (Stick it to Walker). Go here and scroll down through the images for examples of the words on the stickers. Talking about nasty rhetoric and incivility!
Here is another from a liberal lefty using nasty rhetoric and being totally uncivil. This person says nothing is off-limits anymore and put up a Facebook page with almost 70 likers so far going after the youngest child of Sarah Palin who has Down syndrome. The title of the page is, Trig Palin is a F#@&%$ Retard. The “F”ing word is properly spelled out on the page. I feel you should be appalled regardless of where you stand politically, but I am sure some of you reading this are laughing out loud. Shame on you!
Well, on Facebook, there are many pages with nasty rhetoric and incivility on all sides of the political and social realm. Personally, I take the high ground and do not hit the “Like” button to those type of pages on the conservative right going after the President or anyone on the liberal left. Really, it is despicable.
Today, quite a few parents would be appalled at hearing another parent threatening to kill or use other words that convey the same sentiment to their son or daughter. The parents would be threatening this to their offspring, if they considered or actually did something in defiance to parental authority and caused great trouble. Such terms like, “girl (or boy), I’ll kill you” or like what Bill Cosby said to Theo in the Bill Cosby show pilot episode, “I brought you into this world and I will take you out” were highly charged angry talk. When I heard that kind of talk from my mother, I knew she did not mean it. Like others who heard those kind of parental threats, especially in the teen years, I knew it meant a punishment of extra house work assignments of the dirtiest kind and extreme restrictions on fun activities for a while and even receive the back of her hand somewhere on my body.
I am not saying all, but when Muslim fathers and other male family leaders threaten to kill their daughters and female and male relatives, they mean it. We do hear reports of what is known as honor killing. Mostly we hear about fathers killing daughters who in some way has brought dishonor to the Muslim family like ingesting much of western culture. There have also been instances of male siblings and other male relatives killing a suspected or declared gay male member in the family.
I do not understand Muslims migrating to the western cultures of United States, Canada and European countries and thinking that the children they raise will remain completely inside the Islamic culture of the country they left. Muslim actress, Sila Sahin raised in Germany by strict Muslim Turkish parents, posed for Playboy magazine. She said her posing was a total act of liberation from the restrictions placed in her. Liberation from Islam! Her posing also brought out the fury of enraged Muslims who feel she has gone way down the decadent road of westernization, disgraced Islam and must pay for what she had done.
Ms. Sahin really pushed the button! What was she thinking! Her parents are extremely angry to say the least (as would many parents regardless of faith or culture), but her father is not making public death threats to her. Ms. Sahin is getting public death threats from within the Muslim community. Read more here.
But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
My redeemer Jesus Christ lives. He lives today. Jesus Christ is eternal. Today many celebrate Easter. There are Christians from strong bible teaching churches who prefer to call this day Resurrection Day. Christians are celebrating the culmination of Christ Jesus’ death and burial, which is the resurrection. He took the punishment for our wrong through crucifixion. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
After, his burial, up from the grave he arose on the third day and ascended to be with God the Father. His tomb was empty (Luke 24 and 1 Corinthians 15:3-5) Jesus reigns as the only wise and loving Savior. Praise the Lord. In the non-Christian faiths, prophets and even animals receive worship. They are all mortal, having been born and died or will die. None of them are eternal and live and reign with God. Only Jesus Christ can do that. Only Christians can claim a living Savior. Hallelujah.

This is a repost (with a few tweaks) from my former blog.
During your Easter/Resurrection holiday celebration, do not forget to pray for people in other lands who experience persecution for making Jesus Christ their Savior. Here in this wonderful country, we take much for granted, such as our Christian freedoms. Think about the bibles in American homes that collect dust! A few weeks ago I heard a missionary share that in Vietnam where there is strong ancestral worship, there are not many bibles. In fact there is sharing of bibles that are totally hand written.
I have heard the name of Christ defamed. I have been called snide names to my face and much more behind my back, because of my identification with the Lord Jesus Christ! But that is no big deal in comparing and contrasting what Christians go through in Islamic countries and other countries where Christianity is officially castigated or even forbidden. Some people in other parts of the world experience denied medical treatment, being hunted down like an animal, face life imprisonment, or have even be executed because they accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. I have never feared any of that happening to me as a Christian in this country.
